Hello people of Artist Forum and local ATL artist community! With my first post to the Artist Forum site, I would like to formally invite you (and anyone and everyone you would like to bring with you) to a small art show I am having this week on Thursday at Elsewhere Brewing in Grant Park. I am constantly inspired by the diverse group of artists and art enthusiasts that Artist Forum brings in every month and how well I feel like it represents yound emerging Atlanta artists. I would love to have as many possible represent at Elsewhere! There will be about 15 original pieces as well as many prints of past works. (If you need any more convincing there will also be a couple drinks tickets!) Come out and support a local brewery and artist for a night! Hope to see you there. I've been swiping through George Condo: Painting Reconfigured to get some perspective on a piece im starting. His Cardinal series has really been grabbing my attenition lately. Between the overall strange subject, blood red capes, wine bottles and bubbles im fascinated to understand what this really meant to him. Condo's work always make me wonder "what the hell is going on in his head?"🤔. His paintings are like an amalgamation of twisted dreams and AI art before AI art was a thing. Either way im very inspiried by his technique for transparent bubbles, and the swaying fabric of the red capes throughout this series of paintings. What're your thoughts?

Hi, I'm Helen, a re-emergent artists living in Atlanta and working out of a studio in Chamblee. My point of view is evolving and I'm trying to work in as sustainable way as I can, making changes to my practice day by day. Currently, I'm using up all of the materials I have and not purchasing anything new for at least 6 months. This is an example of what I'm creating currently, a traditional painting on canvas titled "Highlight Current." It was recently purchased at the 2023 Hambidge Auction.
